Thanks to community supporters, classic theater is thriving in Cleveland at Great Lakes Theater Festival. On the Ohio Theatre stage and in the community, the Festival is doing what it has done best for over four decades – creating works of poetry, power, and enduring relevance. Great Lakes Theater Festival stages adventures that can change lives.
In 1962, some special citizens of Lakewood had a dream of building a first class theater in their community. From a budget of $35,000 and annual attendance of 18,000, Great Lakes Theater Festival has grown into a nationally recognized leader in producing classic work, with a budget of more than $3.2 million this year, and over 150,000 patrons of our main stage and education programming.
GLTF has been able to:
|
produce critically acclaimed classic theater for record audiences; |
 |
|
become the largest outsource provider of theater education in the State of Ohio, reaching over 50,000 young people each year; |
 |
|
help people make joyful and meaningful connections between classic theater and their own lives. |
Income from ticket sales and education fees provides almost 50% of the money needed to produce our mainstage productions and education programs. The Festival must then depend on contributions to eliminate the income gap.
In addition to ongoing foundation and public/government support, Great Lakes Theater Festival enjoys support from our Members; the Shakespeare Society, our leadership giving circle; and Corporate Members.
In our 46th Season, we celebrate how far we have come,
and dream about how far we can go. With your ongoing support, we
will keep the lights burning brightly in our theater and in the community
for years to come. Please give as generously as you can, and thank
you for being part of the magic that is Great Lakes Theater Festival!
