QLab Operator

Part-Time Seasonal | Posted August 14, 2025

Location: Great Lakes Theater(GLT)- Cleveland, OH
Terms: Part-Time, hourly; Applicant must be a resident of the Cleveland area.
Salary: $17/hr (roughly 30 hours per week)
Dates of Employment: September 15 – October 12, 2025


About the Role:

The QLab Operator is responsible for executing a pre-programmed QLab show file during live theatrical performances. Working closely with the Stage Manager, the operator will follow cued calls to trigger audio, video, or lighting sequences as directed.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Run the QLab show file during performances as cued by the Stage Manager.
  • Monitor the system for any playback issues and report them promptly.
  • Arrive early to check system readiness (startup, file loaded, etc.).
  • Maintain focus and cue awareness throughout the performance.
  • Follow all production and safety protocols.

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Basic familiarity with QLab interface and playback controls.
  • Ability to follow cues accurately and respond to timing demands.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliability and punctuality

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
QLab Operators can work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the rehearsal and performance schedule. The role may involve physically demanding tasks, including heavy-lifting, and occasionally or working in confined
spaces.

  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working at height and with climbing stairs and ladders repeatedly
  • Able to sit, stand, and squat for extended periods.
  • Work extended hours, nights, and weekends as required.
